Animal’s Reformation: Insurgents Motorcycle Club Romance Review
By Chiah Wilder
Why didn’t I know this book was out? I totally found out by accident and was in seven-heaven. I thought the series was over, as was the night rebels. Thank goodness because I can’t get enough of The Insurgents MC.
From the beginning of the book, there were suspense, sex, and drama—just how I like it. This is Animal and Olivia’s story. Olivia just broke up with her idiot boyfriend after finding him in bed with another woman. She moved out and brought a house of her very own, which just so happens to be next door to Animal’s.
The mother of Animal’s child abandoned his daughter, Lucy…well, she dropped her off and left her for Animal to raise on his own because her new boyfriend doesn’t like kids. Animal and Lucy’s relationship is strained, but Animal is determined to make it work.
When Olivia and Animal met, they both felt the attraction between them. Olivia ended up being Lucy’s tutor, and so the story begins. Olivia has sworn off men, not only because of her last boyfriend, but she finds that she also picks the same losers. She is trying to focus on her two jobs and her schooling. Olivia is smart, sassy, and lovable. I fell in love with her character from the first time I met her.
Animal is not into relationships, hence why he got the name Animal because he parties hard. Now that he has his daughter with him, the animal is no more. He is focused on spending time and building a relationship with his daughter–until he met Olivia. He knew he wanted something with her, but he didn’t know what–yet. As with all of Chiah Wilder’s books, the plot was everything.
The book started with suspense and ended with suspense. I mentioned this before, but Chiah is the plotting queen. Animal’s Reformation was another hit from the author. This was a page-turner. I couldn’t put the book down; I finished it in one sitting. Animal’s Reformation was a stunning read; the book was suspenseful, passionate, and enthralling–I couldn’t put it down… I loved this bad-ass biker story.
It also helps that Olivia is an MC princess, so she understands the life of a biker. The chemistry between the two characters was heated from the start. Animal’s love and patience for his daughter were so sweet–you wouldn’t know that he is a bad-ass biker.
I did find some minor editing errors, but nothing big–who am I to say. Also, the book had a feeling of “I’ve read this before,” and I realized that the plots in some of her other books are the same–a serial killer on the loose, who just so happens to be someone you would least expect it to be. I expected more sex also, and that is just me because I like my book with tons of sex in it–like 50 percent story and 50 percent sex–just kidding.
Chiah’s writing style is awesome; her ability to create these wonderful characters got me looking forward to her next piece of work. Her books keep getting better and better. I was afraid the series was going to end but thankful it’s not. This is by far one of the best MC Romance series out there, and I cannot wait for the next adventure.
